Here's mine with 14/50 gearing. Notice that with my 1/4" motor mount the fins are beyond the diff output, so I have plenty of room.
The AE 54t spur is not a direct fit on the Losi diff cup. But if you got the entire AE diff, I think it would fit in the Losi mount. Here is the length of the RC8T diff:
