Gustav's LST -

Finished my LST this week,it's running a 1950/10 hi-amp on 8s lipo,36120,using LST tranny with FOC,spur is locked to slipper shaft to eliminate one way bearing, mechanical brakes, lots of titanium. There's 12 Hardcore Ti plates making up the chassis if you include bulkhead plates and pin braces, plus lots of other goodies. It's rather stout.
Weighs 13lbs RTR,have gearing ranging from 21.8:1 right up to 11:1.The ginormous pinions you see are due to the 2.09:1 centre tranny ratio. The pinions were 8mm bore and very wide so i lightened them up in the lathe and made brass bore reducers, made the adapter for 51T spur which locks to slipper shaft. The motor mount was made the old fashioned way,1/4" HE30 angle, hack saw, grinder, files, drill press, sandpaper, polish and elbow grease. The whole mount slides on slots like a nitro engine to set the mesh and the motor is supported at the rear,it's very solid.
My 36120 is out of action so i'm having to run 7xl/9920 on 16 cells in the mean time, still good fun though. The chassis is really sorted, has so much steering and rotates really well mid corner. It's really stable and easy to drive but also very nimble with tons of quick steering, doesn't feel 13lbs to drive.Brakes are awesome too, twin steel discs with fibre pads. You can see the brake servo on the side of the chassis rails.
