Double check my thinking... -

Right now I have an MRC Baja king (1/8th scale, 2WD ST for those who don't know) with a Novak Super Rooster, 2x Team Orion 27t motors and an 8-cell GP3300 pack. The motors are getting extremely hot (~160-170) after few minutes of running and so is the ESC. Ambient is high now (~90) but it's so bad that I'm afraid to run it for more than 5 minutes. I don't think it's a gearing issue.
My question is, right now the motors are wired in parallel. If I switch to a Traxxas EVX and use 14 cells, and wire the motors in series, will that cut down on the strain on them? Or no because they are still both getting almost the same voltage? Will it help the ESC? I have a crappy fan on the ESC right now and it doesn't really seem to be helping. I thought the Super Rooster was pretty tough and could take 8 cells and dual motors.
