no, that's not the case. If you installed the software as an admin, you should be capable of using it, unless it's using network sources that are restricted to your account, but that's not the case.

Sounds to me like you need to manually install the driver. What does it say in the system manager when it's installed?

Hang on.. i just looked;

Here; C:\Program Files\Castle Creations\Castle Link

Check the driver uninstall folder, and execute the UninstallWindows2000andXP.bat.

reboot your machine and go to the driverinstall folder. execute preinstaller.exe from here.

if you plug in the MM and it is still looking for drivers search manually and point it to this directory;
C:\Program Files\Castle Creations\Castle Link\DriverInstall

(or update the drivers from the device manager using this 'driverinstall' folder.)

It could be the software on the MM, i've seen simular things happening to USB devices with an error.

But you could always try installing it on another computer before you give up on it.
