Finnster, I do believe that it is a re-badged Feigao motor and may even be a 6XL. The "kit" that my buddy bought from FD came "designed" to run 3S lipo. CF said that the motor would self destruct on 4S. I think the motor designation in that kit was an XLT1.

He tried to sell me that motor too (XLT-4), I kept asking him what Kv it was, but he said "look, can't tell everything about something, lose a costumer, oh well"

I wondered that too, so I left a little ambiguity in the desc, but who really knows?

BTW, I'm not saying the 7XL is a bad motor, but in an app where the truck is v lg and heavy, low voltage, and geared the way it was, selling it to an inexperienced user is just really crappy.

Am I a RCM fanboi? Maybe, but RCM and Mike is extremely helpful w/ lots of info, provides good products and service, and is an overall boon to the BL hobby. Such a business I have no prob touting. :) Can't say the same of FD.
