i think emaxx is right, my bling 4 has the 7700, and i have geared up pretty high and in that light car it still heats the esc up pretty good so i think if he geared it down it would work but not very good.

Yes, and no.

Most high Kv motors heat up quickly, even under a light load. At 7.2v the 7700 will spin 55,440 rpm!

Compare that to the 4600 at 33,120 rpm for the same voltage.

The motor will naturally heat up with the additional voltage and related rpm. Consider the additional heat by the controller having to process 60% more and you can see why lower Kv motors with high Amp capacity batteries have an advantage.
