It will, but you will have limited gearing options since the fins on the motor prevent the pinion and spur from meshing together properly with a smallish pinion/spur. Much better to get the 8xl- it will run cooler, and you can gear it up for more speed. Do a search for 'e-revo' and you will see what gear ratios people run. I would also consider the 1/8 buggy diffs, since the stock ones may require rebuilding after every few runs running a BL motor setup.
