I have a new MBX5t that i really want to convert into brushless, since I want to race this is there a way to keep brake bias?

Also what motor/batts/speed control/ gearing should I run?

most of the converted truggies that run around here use the motorbrake.

You really should try it with the motor braking. When I first did my conversions, I thought I'd miss the mechanical brakes, but an electric really does drive differently as compared to a nitro truck. As an overall package, I've grown to like the motor braking. There is no fade as things heat up and it's very consistent.

As for the truck setup, motor, esc, and batteries depends on how much you want to spend.

A popular setup for a truck would be either an 8XL or 9XL Feigao with a Mamba Max esc on a 4S 8Ah lipo pack. The Feigao motors have their issues with the endbells and heat, but they are inexpensive.

You could also consider a Mamba Max/Lehner setup or a Quark/Neu setup, if your finances allow.

cool thank you guys, ill look into the sugestion's. Price I really dont know what I want to spend on it, like most things in this hobby I like to over kill things :)

Motor brakes do work but I am missing the rear bias in the turns. It depends on how the truck is set up to handle. I am waiting (still) on a flawed React to get sent back to me. Once I have I am going to pursue a combo of mechanical rear brake and motor braking on the front. I will have a quick key set up to cancel the rear brake so I can still have reverse. I will let you know how it goes.........the layout is posted in my BL CRT conversion thread in this truggy forum.

I used to use a rear brake bias to help me to "slide" through the turns, whipping the rear end around. Since I've gone to brushless and motor breaking, I have changed my driving style.

Now, instead of using the brakes to whip my truck around, I actually just goose the throttle. In a sense, I like it better because I am accelerating to control the truck rather than slowing it down.

Whatever works for you though.
