Well the LS10 will be possible on that budget, but it'll be tight most likely. Personally, I go with the MM 4600 on 3S. If you spend your money wisely, you won't have a problem since you would be selling the nitro stuff. I would get a 3S 8000mah pack from TrueRC for it, and a MRC 989 charger and a LBA10 balancer. That should be within your budget. You might not have room for the 8000mah pack though.

So heres what I came up with-

$189 for the LS10

$213 for the MM 4600

$105 for the 3S2P 8000mah LiPo

$145 for the MRC 989

$50 for the LBA10

=$702 minus what you sell the motor, radio, etc. for + 30 or $40 for odds and ends. Not bad considering you will have a really good setup.

If you want a better motor than the mm 4600 use a feigao long can, like a 10l or 9l. an 9l will be good on 3s the 10l I have works fine on 4s. I would not suggest 2s as the motor you will use to get the necessay rpm will get hot and draw alot of current. I highly recommend the ls10, it is a great truck. I almost wish that I had not bought and converted a crt.5 as it was much more expensive and not that much better. I am sure that the difference would show on the track, but all i do is bash!!!

Problem with 2s is that the motor has to have a higher kv than a 3 or 4s suitable motor. Kv is the rpm per volt that the motor will rotate. To get best efffecientcy and least heat keep motor rpm to around 35 thousand rpm. A motor that will turn that fast on 2s will draw more current than a motor that spins 35k on 3 or 4s. You will need better batteries for a high powered 2s setup than a 3 or 4s setup because of amp draw. i use a maxamps 4000 4s pack, if you were going 2s, the same runtime may require an 8000 2s pack, and everything (motor, esc and batteries) will run hotter. Lower kv motors and higher voltage just work better than the opposite. The ls10, is 10th scale, the lsp is 1/8th scale. I have both and they are both nice trucks for the price, howver the ls10 will be cheaper to setup as it is smaller and lighter, thus will require less power to run the same as the lsp. I will post some pics in a little while.
