Pack is basically the point at which the combination of the piston hole size/# and fluid viscosity no longer allows quick enough shock shaft movement to absorb whatever your hitting; in escence the shock is "locked up" over the smaller bumps and ruts and cannot travel far enough fast enough over larger stuff. On most tracks you want to be using at least 85-90 percent of your available travel to get around quickly.

On shocks, the further you stand em' up the less ressistence they have. The more you lay em' down, the better the car resists roll. The main thing to be weary of on the upper/lower mounting position is that you don't want the suspention to be hanging on the shocks. If you choose to use the upper holes, the droop will have to be raised and you will loose travel which is not horrible on a smooth/blue groove track that does'nt have any brutal obstacles but not wise on rough track with alot of divets, ruts and/or large jumps.

Thanks for the info, I guess with the one hole setup what I'm trying to help out are the landings off of the jumps, did'nt think about the small stuff needing to be absorbed at a quick rate. What I really need to work on are my landings.

I noticed it says Corpus in you avatar, have you ever been up here in DFW at JCG's track, or Mikes Hobby Shop?

Unfortunately, no. I have planned to attend a couple of events @ JCG but been shut down by work related responsibilities or lack of funds both times. The last time I raced in the Dallas area was mid-later 90's @ Indy RC world. I normally frequent Star Car(our local track), Gears in Harlingen, and Toys 4 big boys in S.A.

After two days at the track on some really loose stuff, the CRT.5 is hooking very well. If the track had been watered down it would be amazing.

The setup that is working for me is as follows.

Front Shocks: 1 hole pistons, 60wt. oil, medium springs. Ride height level, tower position #10 hole, lower arm inner hole.

Front end: 2 deg. toe out, -2 deg. camber, caster 24. Ackerman #1, upper arm mount #1.

Rear shocks: 2 small hole pistons, 35wt. oil, medium springs. Ride height slightly above level, tower position #10 hole, lower arm inner hole.

Rear end: 3 deg. toe in, -2 deg. camber, 3 degree anti-squat, turnbuckle in c-hub hole #3 and tower hole #2

Wing position: F/2, R/1

Diffs: 3k/3k/1k

Proline Crowdpleaser body

Feigao 7l, 2s 5000mah maxamps lipo, Mamba Max, Spektrum micro pro reciever, Hitec hs-5245mg servo.

Total weight ready to run 4lbs. 11oz.
