Go ahead Hichory, do something different! This is what this hobby is all about. Us here on these forums are doing the newest and greatest in RC right now. The first converted nitro to brushless was years back and the mfgs are getting ready to bring it to the masses. We here are the 1/2 of one percent of rc car nuts who are actually raising the bar. This is new territory, more brushless products are coming out every day, and we will be the ones to make them work, in ways never considered before.

I threw out my ideas on the direct to diff outrunner conversion a few months back and I had plenty of nay-sayers. I did it anyway and it works, and works well. Maybe the higher end motors and their greater effecientcy will pave the way to more common HV systems. If these motors can work well at 45k rpm then lets use them at that. Sure it is twice the speed of a BB nitro mill, but lets see how it works.

Smaller motor, more voltage, less weight and lower gearing. Taking the torque load off the motor and spinning it faster may work well. No feigao is going to be able to do this, but the high end motors may. I have 4 different aveox motors on the way and a few kontronic escs too. Going to start with 7s and go up.

I would like to see what the smaller 1930-40 lehners and the 1506-09 neus can do with alot of voltage and some lower gearing. Batteries are getting smaller and lighter, so higher cell counts are getting more and more useable. 4k 30c lipos could be enough to power a 1/8 rc when used at 8-10s.
