I've had the same cool running results with my Novak GTB and 6.5 (5900kv) combo (46/12-13 gearing). I'm running truck tires (2.2 Panther Switch Clays) and driving really hard on an indoor track. Lots of throttle and up to 20 min. runs (4800 2s lipo). I don't get any heat. The motor is warm (no heat sink), but definitely not hot. What I do notice is a good sized area of the chassis, around the motor and motor mount, gets a bit warm too. It seems the aluminum mount and chassis work as a large heat sink.
Your the only one who couldnt get the wing to work....
BP has a jao crowd pleaser, Cemetery gates has a normal jato body, metal man has a nitro rusty body from proline I think, RCM Mike uses a RC10GT body
I think the body just needs some creative trimming like all the other ones.... The stock body would be just retarded IMO lol, WAY to short
You are right...I could hack up the body and manage to install the wing, but all my other cars have wings and this one looks plenty tough without one. For now I will not pursue installing the wing...I am happy with what I have.

Yeah, I love your crt.5, its very clean
Where did you get the black high downforce wing though? Whats the part number?
I used some aluminum angle and delrin blocks to make the battery tray. It fits a maxamps 2s6000. I didn't like the idea of the battery hanging off the side of the chassis, so it's on it's side. I also made room for the RX and ESC on the diff top plate.
I just need to mill out some holes to lighten everything up.
I tried a few bodies at the LHS. Found the Proline for the Losi XXXNT fits pretty good. Had to lose the wing, but that's ok because it looked a little small and silly with the 10th scale body.
