i already have a pack i could use for the BEC, just the one i have in my revo already right? standard 6v reciever pack. and i am on a very limited budget....

Yes, that will work, just remember to disconnect the red wire from the ESC to the RX. A BEC would be a better choice then a seperate battery because it would lighten your truck, but other than that it's fine.

BTW, the Tekno battery box (part of TKR1002) will fit underneath the battery tray from the brushless conversion.

If you're on a budget, your best choice is Feigao and Mamba Max. You'll still have great performance, it'll just run a little hotter.
