Mark, do you know about Mikes heatsink/clamp? Will this fit your motor? If it is a regular 36mm diameter motor it will fit.
This wonderfull thingy allows you to mount a fan directly to it. 2mm screws just grab nicely inbetween the fins. As for the ESC, a fan never hurts. I like them directly on the heatsink.
