I would go with either the Quark 125, or one of the MGM controllers.

well i was thinking about the MM and the polyquest 4s lipo. with a 30-50c discharge rate, that should be enough to make it really move.....right? i might use the $275 quark controller. but i was thinking about the kontronik jaxx 80-6-18. would that be a good choice?

I am also using the Jazz 80-6-18. Its really good controller, and it peforms very well, i've never had any signs of cogging. If you use a data recorder, you will see that you can't get more than 1300watts out of it on 4s Lipo. I am using mine on 6s Lipo and i have peaks up to 2000watts an the Jazz is still cool like a stone
Its a very nice controller

Go quark, or the kontronic. The MM will not run the align 600, or any other outrunner(save for crawler apps). The quark works well for me, I actually used the roadster 65 on an align 600l in a 2wd emaxx. I would say that if you are going to run 5s that you could use the quark 80 or a mgm 90 amp esc to save some money. The align motor will not spin very fast on 4s so you will have some high gearing, and most likely need an esc with over 100amp rating. I ran my emaxx on 4400 5s 20c lipos and they stayed cool, as did the quark 65 and the motor. It was geared for around 40mph.

I was using a Kontronik Fun 600/15, then a Align 600L and now i'm using a Neu 1515/2.5D. They are all working fine with the Jazz!

What did you think of the fun 600/15? Was it a good motor, better than a feigao? I am sure that the neu is better than the kon and align motors.

I think that the Kontronik Motors arent much better than the Feigaos. My one was running very hot if i just geared up a little bit. I wouldnt buy them again, they have 3 times the price of a Feigao and they are not so much better. What do you think of them?

Interesting, thanks for the test info. I was going to try a kno motor, but if they are not that much better than a feigao there is no point. Just wondered. I do have a jazz 40-6-18 esc that i will use in something, maybe with an aveox 1300kv motor on 6s lipo! In a 1/8 scale buggy or similar size/weight vehicle. We will see if it holds up!

If I'm not mistaken, the MM will run outrunners.

Yes the MM will, but not in a high load/high rpm application. It did not like the align motor and have seen it have issues with small outrunners in crawlers. I actually played with the programming on my friend's crawler and made it better. But it would still stall the motor sometimes and not be able to turn it over. I have had much more success with quark controllers for outrunner applications.

About 1600kv on the motor, maybe a 10-11xl feigao.
