Well guys, I hooked up my eagletree up to see just how many amps this little mega motor draws. I was surprised that it pulled 95amps max, 12amps avg, and 600watts. I think some good lipos will do this setup a favor. At 95amps, my maxamps total voltage dropped to 5.5v, thats 2.75v/cell! I'm surprised that the lipo didn't puff... I'm still undecided to which lipo to go with...

Bye

I use a TrakPower, it hardly hangs off the chassis (pics are in my thread if you want to look) Its hard cased, so you dont need to make a whole alu mount (IMO) it doesnt hang off enough to get hit, and I can tell because I had no shrink on it for 4 or o runs, because I ran out of shrink, and out bashing, theres no scratches on it......

Ah poop, I was at my track today and found out that you can only use hard-cased lipos for racing and must have a liposack too. This means that I have only 2 options, right? Trakpower and Neu car lipo? Should I consider any other lipos? What about li-ion? I was thinking of a 2s1p a123 pack, but don't know if the voltage will be enough. I use about 120mAh a minute, so about 1000mAh for a 5min race; I think 2300mAh(a123) would cut it. Opinions/Suggestions?

Thanks!

Lot's of great cell's being deemed unusable because of the hard case rules. I wonder how long before someone releases some kind of universal or size specific aftermarket hard case?

If your track is following the new ROAR rules make sure you read this before purchasing. Also, the packs must be listed on a ROAR approved list. I dont think thi is available yet. I have to imagine that the trackpowers will be submitted and be listed.

Also pay attention to the sie limits!!

Read this for all of the info:

I'm still new to LiPos but if the 2s trackpower can rip my rustler's diff in a few wheelies with a plan MM7700kv system then i'd say thay have a LOT of power!

Dude, I hate rules! This means that the 25c trakpower lipos cannot be used because they are like 160mm long? This sucks big time! It makes me not want to race.

I called flightpower a little while ago, and they have a bunch of trakpower lipos ready to ship to ROAR for testing(a manufacture who wants ROAR to approve their product has to send them a certain number for testing). All their in-house testing passed the ROAR specifications. So, trakpowers are on their way to being ROAR approved!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel a little batter now.....

acually, their not quite as tall. my trackpower fits a little looser in the battery tray than my 6 cell packs do.
