By friday I should have my 5mm pinions here and I can drop in my 7XL and MM esc and use the 4s lipo config. If I can run as good as I did w/ the single VXL I have no doubt I'll be in good shape w/ the 7XL on 4s. Getting excited :) I wasn't about to invest in anything more figuring Castle will have their single MMMonster system out or Traxxas will release a high voltage single motor setup of their own. We shall see...
I have a feeling that if you stick with the same final speed you will be blown away with the 7xl/mm combo. The vxl looks to be a decent system, and priced very well. The dual vxl setup looks very promising, especially for around $300. I would like to hear more about runtimes and temps though, before I make any more assumptions!

David, the new emaxx tranny is alot better than the old tranny, metal top and idler gear and the lower gear is made of better plastic too. Plus it has the single motor plate option too.

But is this new e-maxx is better than the revo?? That's what i want to know. Because if YES, i'll switch for this new one.
Tis is a single speed or two speed?
And the metal top and idler, this is a good hardened steel?

But, the best of all will be to drop in an 1/8 scale bugg center diff in this stock revo frame. But i think it's not possible, because if it was possible, i'am sure that a guys here would did it.

Some things are better, but overall no the suspension of the revo is still far superior of a design and the bulk design included. Don't get me wrong the 3905 is a sweet MT, but it's still no revo. That is why I combined them :) Best of both worlds until Traxxas makes it themselves.. I would be VERY suprised if traxxas doesn't have a Brushless RTR revo out by xmas 08.
