Why is it that on that thread Patrick is really good about giving info out and then he just vanishes? His last post was on Nov. 15th - that's two months without any updates . . . ? Seems like there's a problem to me.

A company like Castle should not have any problems coming out with good ESC. My best guess is that they are trying to make their controllers different from others and stuffing a lot of things that is not needed. One example is the timing, Castles doesn't use the usual degrees like most companies do and that will confuse some people. I know that 2 pole motors works good with 0-5 degrees in timing and I've seen in another forum a guy that used to work for Castle recommend 18.75 degrees with the GT on 2 pole motors. I know from my experience so far if I set my controllers with a higher degree of timing on 2 pole motors, they tend to overheat a bit. I like MGM's Automatic setting .
