On RCGroups, Patrick said part of the delay was that they wanted the esc to run with RTR AM radio's and no interference. I wish they had said this first off, but its nice to know everyone will be able to run it without upgrades (at least not radio upgrades).

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I would never recommend anyone using a AM radio with so much power. Castle should make that a must. My truck on 6S will run out of range in a heart beat and if a kid gets carried away who knows what might happen. I had my MBX5T loose signal 2 times and good thing for the curb.

They probably want it to work with an RTR radio so that they can "partner" with one of the car companies & make a E-RTR 1/8th.

Ouch curbs can hurt. Hope your truck was not too badly broken. Still you are correct. If you are going to play with the kind of power that we expect from the MMM then you should have a better than RTR radio in hand to use it. I would think before long everyone will be running with synthisized computer radios with proprietory controls for the lack of signal loss. Of course it would be nice if the cost of those radios would come down some for the average R/C enthusiest.

Truck is OK . It's my MBX5T. Just a couple bent aluminum parts and a broken bottom arm mount and draglink. When and if my controllers gets done, I will only use Spektrum or other high quality radios, but no AM.

When my controllers come out (Might be 20yrs from now by the way things are going), they won't be just for anybody. I might just keep them all to avoid situations where people might just blame the controller. People should pay attention to directions. Would keep the hobby much safer. With some good FM radios at the price they are going for, I don't know why the RTR kits doesn't include them.

Bundling AM radios with the RTRs is good for replacement parts sales.

Castle Creations The Monster Max is pretty much complete, just waiting on cases. Right now its pretty much out of our hands, we were supposed to have production samples of the cases a month ago. Unfortunately we still havent seen them.

It has a switching BEC so you will not need an external BEC on any voltage its used at.
