my half case does have a hole for the shifter but when matching up the 2 plates the holes are way off. Is there any way to adapt the new tranny to the old chassis mounting holes?

Ok, so the solution is use the other half case (one without shifting hole), and use an old style tranny. Still not sure if the mounting holes for the plate will line up with new tranny case or not.
