Well, only Gee can make the call on whether or not to race. I've made the attempt to get into racing, but my local market has no support for the converted truggy/buggy/MT crowd.

Depending on how/where/what your bashing involves, a truggy/buggy could be a really good project for bashing or a really bad one. If you think the low cg, flat chassis might work for your bashing then go for it - and you will also have the added benefit of having a race worthy vehicle in your stable.

Me, I'm in a similar boat looking for another project as a basher. I'm really fighting the urge to go "low 'n slow' with a crawler...

This may be way off, but why not try a brushless, lipo powered boat. I have a few and they are really fun. If not, convert a losi lst. Not many prefab parts made for it at the moment, so it will present more challange to produce a nicely finished conversion.
