takedown- it's just jokes, i'm a joker, that's why I had the smilie. This forum is real friendly compared to most, we just all prefer tested facts over an opinion of something someone isn't familiar with, after all, r/c takes up alot of all our lives, and we all learn from one another. And arguing with Linc is like wrestling with a pig, after awhile, you realize the pig enjoys it no offense Linc, just bustin' your chops!

takedown- although I just bought an flm rustler tranny to fit a 540c 8xl on my rustler, It's total overkill, and too much power for the drivetrain. An s can geared tall will do 70 on 3s, but run hot. An l can is overkill, but will easily power you to 70 on 5s, as you intend to run. Get the l can that will turn 35,000 rpm on 5s, and use BrianG's speed calculator to gear for whatever speed you want, although you'll need a better speed control for 5s.............speed calculator is the first sticky in the brushless forum

a 13l will spin close to 35,000 (sweet spot of feigao motors) on 5s, on 5s even with a vxl tranny, the diff internals(spiders) don't hold up, I run silicone diff lock inside mine

I see no reason that the 8xl will not push the ruslter to 60 and beyond. What mah is the flightpower battery? The increased battery weight will help the rusty stay on all fours.

Paralyzed, are you trying to say that I am fat? Not nice, I will come up there and push you out of your chair! Meanie!

That said, I do like a good debate, especially when the facts and popular opinion are on my side. That is almost as much fun as when there are no facts and I am going against the unwashed masses' stupidity!
