Yep! But not sure if the long pinion will be long enough to meet the spur gear.
And on the long shank pinion, they've two lock screw, and i'am sure that one of this both screw can't be tight on the motor shaft.

using the RCM mount will bring the whole motor closer to the spur and reduces the stress on the front motor bearing by having the gear closer in on the motor shaft.
