My crt.5 uses a neu 1509 1y motor with Neu's hard cased 2s 5000 mah lipos. With a 15 tooth pinion and proline dirtworks tires (4.1" ) the speed calc says 33 mph. The motor gets warm never hit 100 degrees. The battery never gets warm enough that I even bother measuring the temp. the MM ESC gets around 100-110 with a 25mm fan attached. I still have the stock short chassis so I may be a few ounces lighter than you but I don't think that should make too much of a difference. At almost 3500 MAH (1930 -6) I would try the same 2s neu packs I use. The lehner motors are top quality I wouldn't worry about getting a neu as the difference in quality should be negligable.

I specifically stayed away from a HV setup with this truck since I can use the same batteries in my e-maxxes, rustler, associated t-4 etc. There is so much effort put into engineering 7.2-7.4 volt systems as that is the standard for 90% of the electric cars out there. It is easy to find good working systems in that range. That is also the reason I used a 1515 1y in my 8ight t so I could use anything form a flightpower 4s pack to 2 of my old nimh packs. I guess it makes this super expensive hobby a little cheaper.

By the way I noticed you hace a M18t pro. I just finished building one of those. How do you like it?

I love the Lehner - their motors rock, but the power on 3S with the added weight of the extended chassis seems to be making it work real hard.

If I went down to 2S I don't think i would be fast enough for me. I don' need a 50mph buggy, but I do like speeds ~40-45 for the top end, 30-35 just doesn't give me the same WOW factor. ;)

I was considering sticking with the 3S and going down to a 1506 2Y (2760kv), but the difference between that and the Hacker is so minimal it's not worth the money.

Only going to lay out the money if I go all the way for HV and it'll make a big difference.

(RE: the M18T Pro - it's only an indoor fun toy as they are just way to light to bash around outdoors - but I low kv feiago motor in it and geared for about 20 and it lasts for ever just blasting around the house. I think X-RAY is the greatest thing since swiss cheese - I keep lurking on their forums for when they are going to release a 1/10 EP 4WD buggy and I will definitely be right up there in line.)
