Neu motor design changes??

I noticed design changes too. I have an older 1512 and a newer 1515. My 1515 still has the same bearings as my 1512. But they are accessible from the outside. And the endbell is better secured (not the version with screws though).

The same happened to my Neu 1515/2Y this weekend:
While i was driving my truggy this sunday the magnet of my Neu 1515/2Y did also separate from the shaft. I now can slide the shaft in and out with my fingers and the front bearing now also rotates inside the can. This happened because a small stone blocked the rear middle cvd and the shock on the motor was obviously too much. I really was dissapointed. Never expected this to happen to a Neu. This is the second failure of a Neu motor in offroad use. The Neu 1512 had its endbell loosened which resulted in the rotor brushing against the stator. I could repair it myself though.

The interesting part is that you only payed for shipping. What happened with/to your motor exactly? Did you call them on the phone before sending it in or did you only fill out the form on their website? Do you have the exact url where i can find this form?

Guess i will get in touch with the european distributor of Neu before shipping it to the US.

There is a pdf to print out, its on their website under support. Basically you fill it out and send in w/ the motor. I did call @ 1st to see if I needed an RMA# or reciept or anything. I was just told just the completed form was needed. :)

IDK what happened. I got the setup in the fall (Oct.-ish) and its been mostly sitting. I took it out last month to play, and all of a sudden the motor was stuttering. PLayed w/ it and the failed rotor was obvious.

Curious thing was the shaft seemed to have been slipping forward early on. It kept chewing up my slipper pads on the Revo. I thought maybe the pinion was getting loose &/or bc of a broken motor mount. I guess not quite right from the factory.
