The turnigy esc has a slow spin up time from dead stop but once it it running it is supposedly fine. The MMM won't handle as much voltage but can handle more amps and is better suited to car applications. As far as chargers go I use a Bantam BC6 and the hyperion chargers have a good rep around here. Not sure about the hobby city chargers.

I originally thought this too, even after owning and running one. But my test runs were driving around on the road, getting the gearing right etc. It wasn't till I tried jumping and actually drove it on the dirt that I realized how bad it really was.
Zippy-K seems pretty punchy sqweezing more watts from 5000mah 21C-30C than from 8000mah 10C-15C TrueRC battery but their rate are different too. Anyway I cant say anything bad yet, still have full capacity and no any puff sings after 10 cycles, BUT take a look on PolyQuest i noticed that price difference not big,Zippy-K ~$50 less by same mAh and 4S packs, maybe becouse I am platinum member... I dont know. But IMO PolyQuest worth extra money! If price difference is way more, Zippy-K are OK. I am pretty satisfied with Zippy-K (Check price difference then you are Logged in, personal price can difference from not logged user)
Turnigy ESC not suite very well to car, First its SLOW and have stupid delays second dont have Reverse/Brake-needs to use mechanical. If you plan to use on HighVoltage setup and do speed runs its OK.
Yes MMM is designed for CAR and if you want solid good BL ESC wait MMM and not cost so much if compare to other CAR ESC brands (MGM, Schulze, Quark etc)
I dont know about HC chargers dont have experince but on HC forum couple guys had problems with some sort of charger recommend to check forum before. And Like MTBikerTim mentioned Bantams bc6-10, Hyperion especialy 0610i have good reputation they are not so expensive and they are powerful!
