14s in a Savage will require a very low kv outrunner for direct drive (assuming it will be direct drive). By my calculations, with 7" tires and ~45mph top speed, you need 140 kv. 50mph on 7" tall tires is about 160 kv.

I know you say it's crammed, but I've seen an flm savage take more abuse than any other truck. You could always run the batteries outside the tvp's, since they are still inside the track width of the tires they really aren't vulnerable outside the tvp's as some worry about. And if you get flm extended arms, the truck is absolutely planted at high speeds, and nothing beats the look of thick aluminum, IMO, If I didn't have so much money into maxxes I'd build another, atleast my buddy has the one I built so I still see it.
