They are like a hardened plastic. Tough as crap is all I know on both. None of my other speed trucks that I tried messing with would hold up. The internal gears would melt. My 3905 emaxx kept melting gears as well and its suppose to be "brushless ready"....pppffsstt....yeah right.
I can tell you this....on the weekends when its not doing speed runs we are drag racing a marked off 200ft. It will stripe the stampede, rustlers...etc, and that is putting on the factory big tires.
