I got the hardened steel gear set, and the heavy duty pinion gear with the outdrive coupler. I never realized that the 1/8 diffs were so heavy duty. The mere size of the pinion shaft is very surprizing. The only thing that is missing is the pinion bearings & of course shims. Do you know what size the bearings are and where on might get them? A link would be nice. If I can get a list of the various sizes that I need I was thinking about purchasing like 100 bearings from Avid, since they are $1 each. Also are there any aluminum diff cups that will work on the Hot Body diffs? I do know that there are a set of aluminum "Torsen" diffs but at $120 a piece that is more than I wish to spend on one diff. I purchased the "Hot Body" diffs with the helical tooth ring and 10T-pinion gears, and I really like the way they look. For the price they look like they will hold up to pretty much anything in the Monster trucks. So if you have some info I would appreciate the assistance. Thank you.

Hay Jerry!!
I got lost a few places along the way, so lets try this.. I’m sorry I haven’t had much sleep lately and I’m to doing the best I can, so please work with me here ..

You’ve got these FLM bulks, these are awesome (great decision)

(Got lost here)??
You’ve got these hardened steel gear set and heavy duty pinion gear (??)
(this??) http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...RO_DIFF&cat=47

(Or) ????

Yeah the Pinions are huge and 1/8 diffs will / should withstand even your punishment ..

The Pinion bearing for a 1/8 diff is / are 8x16. You would need four of them total, two for each pinion (assuming that you are using them in the FLM bulks). Mine came with my kits, so I don’t understand why your missing yours, but here a link to buy some proper bearings http://www.ultimatehobbies.com/istar...6BEARINGS!1001

(Got lost here)??
Regarding the list for various sizes for bearings?? For what part?? your outdrive couplers (??) if yes then assuming that you have the 1/8 HPI diffs?? They are also 8x16 or should I say that the FLM bulks required 8x16 bearings, a total of 4 per each bulk (two for the outdrive couplers and two for the pinion), no other bearings are required for the diffs. my transmission takes a 5x10 on the output shafts (4) of them total, my 3905 slipper clutch takes the 5x10 and the only other bearings are for the drive lines / steering blocks, What am I’m missing?? note if you dont have the attached Diffs, then get 4 of each of the following bearings (8x12, 8x14, 8x16)

I’m sorry sir but I;m not aware of any aluminum diff cups for these diffs.

I would assume that any 1/8 aluminum diff cups would work?? But I wouldn’t bank on it!, it’s just an assumption.. Sorry but I can’t help here...

I would love to see some pictures or the link to your new hot body diff with the helical tooth ring and 10T-pinion gears (got any you can share)??

I hope this helps??.

Have a great one Jerry

Shaun
