Yes I have tried two different brands of tires on one E-Maxx. It all depends on what your goal is as far as traction is concerned. Wheather you want more traction in the front or back or even different traction compounds on the right or left side of your rig. There is no standard in this or right or wrong way to do it. you just have to try things our and see what works for your application. I think most people just get sets because it is easier and it looks uniform on any given vehicle.
