I use the 1577kv with 6S Flightpowers and a gearing of 52/16. Good mix of wheelies and top speed and temps stay reasonable. Get the new high speed 3rd gear set that just came out and top speed is even better! The only drawbacks are you still get a lot of busted drivetrain parts! Guess that goes with the brushless territory.

Which 1527 did you have? Did it run cool through the pack? Looks like the 1521/1y/s is the right direction. I want insane power, I'm building this more as a exhibition truck.
The idea I have in my head is. Half throttle down the road, punch it and wheelie past my buddies with nitro savages, and buggies. This is not going to be raced as I have 16 other r/c's I do that with.
