I have read other posts here in RCM where people have stated that if you are going to order a NEU motor to make sure that you order it through MIKE because he has a repour and reputation with them that makes the ordeal a little less painful. That way you are only dealing with him and not the manufacturer. Just sharing the info.

True, i wish i had now given Mike's top notch customer service. But due to the motor being fairly 'one of a kind' i think Mike would have had to special order it from Neu anyway, so id still be waiting

But at least id definately get a reply to my emails from Mike, he's definately got the best service around!!

Yea sometimes things just do not go the way we would like, but where there is a will there is a way. We all know it will work out in the end. Your project really turned out beautiful. I am sure that you are quite proud and there is an awsome feeling of satisfaction when everything comes together. I never did the Gmaxx version. The carbon fiber stuff looks really cool, but as TDC found out it has a weaker quality that only metal can cure. After reading through your thread I cannot wait to get my lightning Supermaxx completed and post it up here as well. I was just thinking that I will have to post a thread with all four of my Maxx's so I can finally share them with everyone. It has been a long but fun road getting to this point and I will soon have all four of them up and running (by Xmas hopefully). Great job on this build Jordan. I am very much looking forward to seeing this Neu 1527 motor of yours. I have the Big Max motor and I want to see how it compares. I may have to get a similar Neu for one of these beasts of mine. I just ordered two more monoblocks from UE for two of them. I to like the idea of having the built in fan on the motor. From other posts I have read the power of the 1527 is just rediculous for the Maxx trucks, but who knows? I guess you will find out first hand and then we can learn from your experience. Thanks for the thread Jordan, it has been great reading about your project. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing it with all of us.

Thanks for the kind words Jerry, really means alot. I can't wait to see your trucks, i always see your 'JERRY2KONE SUPERMAXX' heading and just wonder what truck(s) you could be hiding from us all

A lightning you say can't wait to see how that is going to come together, they are THE most awesome chassis full stop...... A Bigmaxx on a lightning supermaxx, i dont think you can get any better than that

again thanks for the kind words Jerry, be sure to get some pics of your Maxx family up some time in the future

jordan

P.S I may have cracked a way to mount the CD on the lower deck of the Gmaxx chassis, and still be able to fit the 1527 in, but sssshhhhhh... its a secret for now

Yea I have gotten very lucky, and mostly from reading here on RCM and researching through all of the threads. I started out with a stock E-Maxx and got the Integy hopups first. Then when I got on here and began learning what was really available I took a different path in my quest for the ultimate R/C Monster Truck. In teh engineering field you learn to search out the weak points and find a way to elimnate them. In the end giving you a product that is unbreakable ("Bulletproof"). That has been my goal. This hobby is definately not cheap by any means, but if you look steadily and keep your eyes open and don't get in too much of a hurry you can realized your goal without braking the bank. Although after just a few years I have already spent nearly $20K just getting setup for these four trucks. I just want my kids to see and feel the difference between a toy (RPM & Integy) and true quality R/C gear (UE & FLM). This hobby and this site RCM are just a blast to be a part of. I am having a lot of fun just building these trucks & reading about the experiences of our fellow RCM borthers. I am excited about getting the hang of racing some where down the line, but for now I am just learning the mechanics & electronics of the hobby and this is fun as hell for me. Thank you for shring your kind words as well Jordan. There are a lot of really good people here and I am proud to be a part of the gang. I just need to know where I can get one of those monkey butlers to clean up after me.
