You should go to your local hobby shop and pick up all the controllers and see which one you like the best... I would suggest a KO PROPO ex-10 helio with a spektrum pro and a liop battery it make the radio extremely light.. I have raced with all the spektrum radios and a m11 and i really like the ko propo with a drop down wheel they are expensive but worth it because you can use it for years and years and they are very durable...

Go for the Futaba 3PM Fasst, a friend of mine has one and it is an excellent radio, a guy at his track has a DX3R and it came unbound during a race - not great

But they do have a factory 2.4G version out now. The receiver is about the smallest I've seen. They also have the EX-1 coming back out with the 2.4G system. That was my favorite radio of all time!
