A bit pricey though.
I just picked up the motor mount and fan for $50 plus $9 shipping, where as if I would have just bought the kit from amain it would have been $85 plus around $6-8 shipping and I could have re-sold the battery boxes and probably come out ahead...
I guess I should just be happy they are selling the parts individually though...
For anyone that was interested in buying these parts individually...
I placed an order via shopatron (novak's sells their own stuff there...) on Monday for the motor mount and fan.
I got an "update" email yesterday (that I didn't read until this morning) that said the parts would not be available until next week from shopatron yet the website implied they are available now.
Based on that, I canceled the order and placed an order with amainhobbies.com (they get to much of my small parts money....) and for $45 more I get the battery trays (which I don't really need) and the motor mount to buggy adapter plate (which I also don't need). Now, I do not need these extras, but at least I trust amain to be honest if they have something ready to ship out the door.
I suppose I shouldn't be in to much of a hurry though, as Novak's Non-Warranty repair group has been looking over my motor/esc to figure out which component fried. Sorta expected to hear from them to at least admit they have received it and are diagnosing it....
All in all, I find if you email or call Novak they are very friendly and helpful. Placing orders it seems and non-warranty repairs (money for them) do not seem to be so efficient.
Yes I expect NovakTwo to reply back about how either my situation is the exception not the rule, or that I am being unfair and expect to much out of them. But last I checked Novak billed itself as a leader in RC electronics/accessories... and I am just getting impatient (two days to have an auto-email let me know the product was actually not in stock, and 4-5 business days without even getting a "we are looking into your problem" email...).
Hopefully, the repair group gets back to me next week (doubt I will hear anything today), it will be fixed and it will never break again, but I think that I might finally be willing to agree with the opinion on this board that the HV-Maxx w/ HV4.5 motor is not that reliable. Of course, had I known that the HV4.5 was only meant for speed runs (which is what the website states now) I wouldn't have purchased it, but hindsight is 20/20. When I hear from Novak Non-Warranty I will reply back to let anyone who cares know if my motor or esc or both was fried...
