How do you have the twin ESCs wired? I have mine completely separate:

Battery1-->ESC1---Motor1

Battery2--->ESC2---Motor2

ESC1 and 2 are connected to a "Y" cable. I cut the red wire from ESC2 so the Receiver would not have two power inputs. After thinking it through...I don't think it was necessary to cut the red wire on ESC2.

Thanks,
1. 19/52 yields a 2.73 ratio. 20/68 is 3.4 ratio, so it's a much higher gearing. My gearing is 19/62 which is 3.3. 19/52 would be good for a 50mph speed run, may be too high for off-road running.

2. If you plan on running this reliably you will definitely want to link both batteries in parallel to both ESCs. This will make it so the motor systems get the exact same voltage and run the same speed and will also make it so that the LVC kicks in at the same time for both systems.
I'm pretty sure you need to cut the BEC wire, that's what I did and it runs well. The ESC that is powering the BEC tends to run a little hotter than the other one.

3. I actually got my 9XL from arct1k a month ago (the same one he ran for a year? ). But I haven't run it yet, because the Mamba Max has been in the repair shop for 5 weeks. So I've had the Revo for 7 months and I haven't even been able to even run it. I'm not allowed to drive the dual Velineon

The timmy - Revo 3.3 MM 9XL 4s , Rustler MM 4600 3s
The ferty - Dual velineon Revo 3s, Rustler velineon 3s

oops, when I said 19/52 above...that was a typo...I meant 19/62. But thanks for the ratio information above. I used to wonder how folks computed the gear and drive ratios. I can see from your numbers above that its just spur tooth count divided by pinion tooth count. Duh! Sorry, I took electronics, not mechanics. Slap me! (always wanted an excuse to use that emoticon).

So I ended up going the hobby shop and getting a 62 tooth spur and used a 20 tooth pinion.... She was out of control! I don't have a speed gun, but my wheels were complete saucers and I had almost no weight on the front wheels for steering! It was a blast! 150 degrees on the motor 147 on the ESC.

I'll make the wiring modifications tomorrow if I can. Thanks for the tip...something in the back of my mind was telling me I should have done it different...that's why I asked. What you said makes perfect electronics sense.

OK TST,
I made the wiring modificatiions last night. I hate soldering those new Traxxas connectors, but I'm getting better at it. I'm going to sneak out of the office and run to a nearby park to test it. Hope nobody comes looking for me

Just finished a 10 minute bashing session with my Twin Velineon Revo.
What a blast! I'm running 62/20 gearing and its as fast as ____

I installed a set of fans on my speed controllers and temps are down to 105 for the ESC and 140 for the motors. The E-ReVVo is so fast, one of my tires came unglued! And just FYI, I also installed a set of Tekno anti-sway bars. This is the best performing RC vehicle I've ever built. Its what I've been trying to build from a TMaxx chassis for the last two years without success.

I just did a couple speed passes with a Garmin GPS. With 62/20 gearing I could reach 44.5 miles per hour. I was not using fresh batteries. I have not had a chance to try it with fresh batteries, or other gearing options.
