I was originally going to get the ProTek 4000mah 20C/30C Li-Po for $140, but since my truck's not going to be done until after my birthday, I'm going to have a little extra cash and I'm going with this one. It's 6000mAh, 5S2P, 18.5V, 20C maximum continuous discharge and 50C maximum burst discharge! that's 300 amps maximum burst discharge!!!

of course I'm not going to get it until I have a working BL combo
Just my advice here, but do not buy a maxamps pack. Unless you go with the 8000 pack. Their ratings are overly optimistic. Better to go with a flightpower, neuenergy, thunderpower, polyquest, or poly rc pack. They are made with enerland cells, much better quality.

I have had at least 12 maxamps packs, and had to return all of them. I have not had a failure yet with an enerland cell based pack, currently have the following:

Neu 3900 3s, 5000 3s
Flightpower 3700 4s (2) 2170 3s (2)
Poly rc 3700 5s bought used, still works as new
trakpower 4900 2s (4)

I have some more, just can't remember...

do you know of any specific models that will fit in a 48/144mm battery tray that have at least 120 amps of continuous discharge?

Here ya go, should not have any problem with this. BTW, that 6000 pack cannot push out 100 amps cont, let alone 120...

Trying to find a higher mah pack that is not longer is difficult. You can go up to 6000mah with fp lipos, but you will need a bigger battery tray. Mike sells a tray that will fit...

Look around, you may find a better price than tower hobbies has. You can go with any of the other brands I listed, they all use the same cells...

the only one that i found that was better was a flight power 6s pack, but i don't have a 6s charger, I just ordered the battery tray from rc-monster like 30 minutes ago, but I'm not going to cancel it unless I find one with higher mah and 5 cells that's too big for the one I ordered.
