From my experience the HV-110 in trucks is awesome, when using mechanical brakes. It's powering my 10s1p A123, ~14lb. extended Savage with no problems.
I have an OFNA Ultra GTP II with a Neu 2215, HV-110 on 8s and I was able to stop it from 83 mph with the brakes on the HV-110. No mechanical brakes. If you use the pistix adapter on the HV-110, it feels just like a car controller. (Video here)
