The mmm esc did run extremely smooth...a bit smoother than the MGM. Interesting as to the temp. differences between the two set ups. The MGM ran quite a bit cooler.

i think the reason why, is becuase the mmm CAN draw heaps of current to start off... the ability to do this makes it so smooth (i think, never actaully run one yet...) it then passes this huge current to the motor making everything that little bit hotter. also, would the drag brake cause lots of heat? it would be great if you could change 1 variable each time and drive the same and see if you can get the temps to match the MGM?

That is probably why the batt temp is so high. If I fiddled with it long enough I could probably the temps similar. All in all, I believe the MGM set up would run cooler in the end.

Was the drag brake on the MGM set? If not, that could explain excessive heat in the MMM and 9XL.

This is the reason why CC doesn't rate their car ESCs for current anymore. There's no standard for the ratings.

There was a drag brake on both controllers...don't remember the setting of the MGM, the MMM was at 30% I believe.
To lower heat on the motor I will reduce timing to 0, remove drag brake. Do you think that I can lower batt. temps. using the mmm?
