If you want you can save them to your hard drive. Just look at the bottom of the page it says "Download all Private Messages as: XML | CSV | Text." All you have to do is pick the format.

Considering Patrick's place on the forum and the large number of ongoing discussions surrounding the MMM it seems like a more than reasonable request.

I would think the Admins can increase your storage limits quite easily.
