A truggy is roughly the same size/weight as a MT, and those need an XL motor. The Medusa 60mm motors will probably be a bit small unless you gear way down, but then you lose top speed. The typical entry-level setup is 9XL, MM, and 4s lipo. Adjust the ESC for higher torque control to help limit the instaneous current surges. Even then, you'll probably want to gear down to 30mph to keep things cool. Once you get the funds, you could step up to a MMM, 6s, and 1515 motor to run that a lot better, and have more gearing options without heating things up.

with a 9xl, MM, 4s....would i see performance somewhere close to what a nitro set up would be on a track??....I don't need to have the fastest truggy out there but would like to still be competetive and in the ballpark...
any idea of what i should start with gearing ?? should i start with changing to the 46t kyosho spur as opposed to the stock CRT spur ??...thanks again for any help
