Simple as that - I did remove 1 small section of internal plastic to make routing the cable back into the main battery compartment easier - I just soldered onto the back of the existing battery coonectors.
If the battery fits ok it is a max 10 minute mod...

cant beat that. ive got a jr sx3 which is identical. i just unsoldered the battery terminal thingys (took it apart first) then added some more wire and added 2mm bullet plugs which i still had. cost me almost nothing for the peace of mind my stupid battery wont go flat. and its a higher voltage than my nimh! and its lighter too. hope this helps,
