My first two v1's went up in smoke, but my 3rd v1 is going strong with the original firm ware. I just cut the top of the case off and run with no fan. Works great. Temps typically about 150 - 170 after a 10 or 15 minute main.

I run 5s with a Neu 1512 3d or 1515 2.5d depending on how I feel that day.

I have a V1 that is still working v1.17 software and It just went back into the XT8 truggy to replace the V2 that had a BEC failure. I originally pulled out of the truggy to replace it with the V2 I got in replacement for my first failed V1. Not allot of run time on it yet. Maybe 3 hours or so. My 2 other V1s lasted well past this long before the BEC died in them, so I'm still holding my breath. The V2 I had only made it an hour or 2 before the BEC went. I still have a V2 that hasn't been plugged in yet. Waiting for the V1 to go first.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Still have 1 v1 that works fine. Must have 1.17 firmware, as I do not remember changing it. I have played with the settings with the castle link quite a bit. Running 4s with a 1515 1.5d.

Yup. Using the internal BEC. I also have a v2 that is holding up pretty well, but I am just going to keep using the v1. After the abuse I put it through and if it is still going strong, no need to mess up a good thing. I am going to add a cap to it to take a little pressure off since I don't have a fan on it.

For those that care about setups:

RC8
V1 MMM (top of case cut off completely, no fan)
1512 3d and 1515 2.5d
5s 4000 Zippys
Dx3r w/ Receiver
Geared for about 35-42 mph depending on track
