Looks great, any chance you could get a pic of how you attached the side nerf gaurd to the battery tray area? Maybe a shot of the underside of the truck on the battery side?

Looks like alot of fun. Still need to finish my slayer up. I will be running buggy badlands on mine, and after watching the video I may incorporate a gyro to keep it stable...

I have a spare hpi d-box gyro somewhere... May have to give it a try. I will say that the stock tires on my slash suck, so the slayer tires will be no better. I am using the ofna 17mm hub adapters and ofna 5spoke white wheels. That combo seems to be almost identical to the stock track width. Body fits perfectly too.

Killer fast! nice build. What kv is that motor? 1512/2.5d. Lincpimp: I'm trying a gyro in mine. It helps.

Looks good. Very clean install.

Maybe a little stiffer suspension and swaybars will help a bit with the tumble and roll thing its doing.

I was considering one of these... but I now I think I will wait a bit until the verdict is in on them. That looked like some real slpooy handling. It was nice that it seemed to find the wheels most of the time, but I prefer something that just stays on the wheels.

Maybe the AE one will be better. I'm sure the RC8 motor mount will just drop into that one.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

So I have some suspension parts coming; different weight springs (softer in front, heavier in rear), sway-bar kit, and some buggy tires/wheels. I already have some 17mm adapters but they’re not extended. I wouldn’t mind lowering it too. I guess I could use some old rod & ball-ends I have kicking around to test and change the lengths of the pushrods.

It’s the stock nerf-bar that I cut down & notched to mate with the tray, then just super glued. It’s temporary as I ordered a replacement set of nerf-bars and plan to use the left-side bar on the batt-tray side. The left-bar has the forward mounting position, and a rear eyelet mount that you can simply run a bolt/nut through the batt-tray to secure. They’re a whopping $4 bucks for the set.

Ok guys I got my Slayer today and the drivetrain has some binding.I pulled the trans and it seems to be the front and rear diffs. The front and rear diffs make a clicking sound. This is my 1st Traxxas I have never had a RTR just kits. The diffs in my other Buggies/Truggies have allways been smooth. Is this normal.Do they just need to be broken in?I realy dont want to continue the conversion until I know this is ok.
