It should be able to handle 6s Lipo. Fully charged, that would be 25.2volts, and 20 cells fully charged are ~26-28volts. Nominal, 6s Lipo is at 22.2v, and 20 cells are at 24v. So, 6s Lipo is within the controllers limits :).
A LVC (low-voltage cutoff) device as mentioned by coolhand will keep the batteries from going below 3volts/cell, which is a requirement. BTW, Lipo cells won't "explode" ;). |
