I like the FLM (8mm) cvd vs the MIP. They are more $$ but have lasted and saved me the issues of broken stockers. The only issue I've had with them have been bent stub axles. They are replaced at no cost due to warrenty and FLM said they have improved them since the last ones I bent. While I was waiting for the replacement stubs to arrive from FLM. I extracted the axle stub from a stock one to use.

You can beef up the traxxas ones a bit with the metal yokes. The ones I got had and issue with the pin staying in though. I think they also have the end axle part that is metal now too.
