However, I only installed that battery tray about a week ago, and had the first bash with it yesterday, so I haven't had any long term testing with it yet. I actually asked this exact same question to Dan (owner of RCPD) and he said that putting a little strip of velcro on the bottom of the tray really helps, and that the only time the strap has a chance of breaking is if you lawn dart a jump. I just put some foam padding on all sides of the tray and some extra soft foam at the ends of the battery.

That is exactly when my strap broke... LAWN DART!!! Maybe I should try adding some velcro to the bottom... Thanks!

I use the rcpd try on my 8t, works great, ive lawn darted so hard I threw the bearings 1/2 out of my neu and something with the rotor and shims being flown all over the place. (nue fixed it for free but told me if do it again they wont) the stock straps and tray held up but i use 2 extra, as I think Dirt Buggy had his rip apart soon beofre I installed mine.
