Motor wires are 7 1/2in long.. i tried braiding them- no avail, i even moved the speed controller to the rear chassis brace, no difference. receiver is on the front brace- as far away as humanyl possible from the noise

No, you read right. It's common knowledge (or maybe not?) that twisting wires so they intersect as close to 90* as possible helps reduce noise. If the wires are kept short, noise is minimized (and would be hard to twist anyway). Personally, using a 2.4GHz radio along with keeping the antenna away from high current wires is plenty.

Depends. How long are the wires? If they are so long you can braid them, then they really should be shortened IMO. I've never braided/twisted the motor wires and I have as much range as I can effectively see.

Would haveing the aluminum antenna mount hard mounted to the aluminum chassis affect anything?
