i have to a gree with patrick on the case issue. i opened my v3 as well to heat shrink the fan wires (both showing strands through the insulation) and to trim the offending tab off the lower portion of the case, but if you are not carefull you CAN damage the board. personally i use the same method as lincpimp, two small allen drivers. i think the issue is when people damage the board, they dont want to say so. yeah it sucks but oh well could be worse. i have had 5 mmm's so far(4 v2 + 1 v3) and trust me i felt the frustration. in the end castle is doing more than they should have to as far as working with the end customer. we have all had our rants, i am NO EXCEPTION, but in reallity opening cases and performing mods etc. is the best thing we can do. we are pounding these controllers in our trucks and castle is actually listening!!!! not to say negitive feedback is useless, but its harder to WANT to hear than positive. anyway my .02

Patrick - I have do disagree on the fan wire - I've shown on mine that when I opened it up the fan wire was stripped on +ve to copper.

I can't say it would have shorted against the board in an important way but it can't be good...

That is why I insist that the toilet seat is always closed unless someone is using it. I am slightly OCD with that, but my phone has never gone swimming with a floater/peanut...

well... i was once on a call and had to pee really bad so i went in started my thing and blooop in the phone went will my piss and i immediately reached in for the phone pissed on my hand. The phone was fine, i shut it off. took the battery out and washed it with water and let it dry for 2 days and it was fine. BTW i washed my hands really good after that. needless to say i don't talk and piss at the same time now.

I fly, I drive, but most of all I crash.

i agree could be nothing like patrick said but what circuit is affected when the fan dead shorts? it will do something somewhere in the esc. whatever, easiest fix ever, 1.5" shrink tube, and a little patience. small task considering the time and effort spent on the rest of the vehicle. this pinch is obviously happening at the factory as the esc is assembled. the only way they would know is to open it back up after bench testing and have a look see. but then again it works why open it? like i said before when i got my v3 out of the box i peeled the sticker off so i could mount it and opened it (past mmm's had pinched fan wires too) to check the fan wires, both were showing copper.

Ok, so if the MMM isnt broke dont fix it.

Dont use your MMM as a lawnmower.

I love this site. I learn so much.

Lets face it guys, its a good policy. If you know what you are doing they will never know you opened the case. Some of the people opening these cases are the same ones that think the 8S is close enough to 6S and that 5000kv motors and 6S work perfectly together.

Exactly, did patrick really need to elaborate on the frailty of the board vs. a screwdriver or other wmd inserted into said monster.

there is nothing like cutting grass with an r/c

My wife flushed the car keys down the toilet - $230 to replace!

Can't complain as it meant I could buy an AX10... lol
