Yeah, that's about the closest thing I've seen to it. IMO it's a pretty good idea. One of the biggest arguments for using timing chains in 1:1 engines is that they stretch (belts need replaced ever 100k miles though, I don't like that kind of maintenance). I figure a tensioner would be a good way to keep chains running longer but it seems nobody ever uses one. I forgot completely about a bicycle though. If you could make one for your RC, you'd probably never need to re-tension your chain.
