Clown... - 01.08.2009, 11:25 PM

Yea I can be a bit of a clown when I feel my funny bone acting up. I love the way we can make each other laugh on RCM about more than just R/C. That is half the fun of being a member here. We can't be totally serious about everything that we do. Where the hell is the fun in that?? Glad that I could put you in a laughing mood. Looks like we have nothing better to do today anyway.

My kids are in school and I am just hanging out at home. I will get into the shop some time today and get some work done though. I have my RCM Maxx just about finished. I static mounted up the twin Dewalt 970 motors last night. This thing looks scary. I haven't a clue about the speed calc for this thing, but I have a few selections for pinions, and I am running a 65t RR metal spur with double disc slipper. I guess I will just wing it and see how it flies. I will take it pretty easy up front just to test out the temps and all. I don't want a screeming ball of flames running around scaring the kids half to death. I still have some work to do, but you know I am never in a rush with these things. The setup is pretty sound, but working with the electronics is all new for me. SO this will be a fun learning experience for sure. I am sure that I will break sonething, but hopefully it will be on the truck and not "someone" getting in the way.
